Jake and I got to the temple around 9:30 am and the sealing was at 11:00am. Every time I think about the sealing I get all teary eyed because it was such a special experience. Anyone who was there can tell you that I balled the whole time. I loved being in a room with all of mine and Jake's loved ones. This was definitely one of my top three favorite parts of the day. Some of the things that were said by our amazing sealer, I will never forget.
Next, we went outside and took tons of pictures with family and friends. This was super fun and super HOTTT. Having a wedding in August will definitely make you sweat a ton in your dress/tux. It's crazy how you think that having an hour and a half will be plenty of time to take pictures.. well IT'S NOT (at least for us it wasn't). I am a bit sad when I look back because I feel like Jake and I didn't get as many pictures in front of the temple as I would have wanted. We had to rush to the luncheon because there was a huge traffic jam on the freeway and apparantly we put the wrong address to the luncheon on the invitation so a few people got lost (people always say there will be at least one thing that will go wrong on your wedding day, well this was it). But in the end, everything ended up fine and we had the BEST luncheon food and toasts ever. When I say I had a top three of favorite things on my wedding day, the luncheon was definitely on that list. It was decorated so nicely and like I said the food was super good. The toasts were made by my dad, Jake's dad, Jared (Jake's besty), and Liz (my besty). Another moment where I coudn't stop the tears from comin. I loved how intimate and special that part of the day was.
Next, we had about a three hour break before the reception started. This was kinda nice because we got to just take a second to relax on the wedding day and eat more food hah. When we got to the reception at around 6:30pm, I was shocked at how beautiful it looked. I'm gonna be honest, I was not too happy about the fact that I was having my reception in a cultural hall but it turned out 100 times more beautiful than I would have ever expected it to. My mom and dad and multiple other people (you know who you are) worked SOOO hard to make it look good and they did such a great job. You can tell that my dad didn't get any sleep the night before the wedding by looking at how miserable he looks in the pictures haha it cracks me up.
The reception had a lot of awesome parts to it.. Some being the people who came (so many of them were so unexpected, people I hadn't seen in years that made the time to come), the delicious desserts everyone helped make, and of course, the dancing. So the third thing in my top three favorite parts of the day was when Jake rapped every word to "Ice Ice Baby." It was super entertaining and a huge crack up. During that moment, I thought to myself, "..and this is why I married him." Basically, our DJ was awesome and throughout the night I was so happy when I saw all the people who were dancing! I was kinda nervous that people wouldn't be interested in getting up to dance but so many people were being super fun and crazy. Jake and I love that stuff :)
All in all, everything turned out so great! Of course our wedding day was my favorite day, not only was I marrying my best friend, I also had all of my favorite people around me to share my special day with me. I'm just so grateful for all of the love and support we recieved throughout that time (whether it was those who came to the reception to congratulate us or those who sent us a card in the mail). It definitely made us realize how many people care about us and want good things for us. So if you are reading this and you were one of those people, THANK YOU SO MUCH. We love you.
Alright, sorry for getting so cheesy throughout this whole post. Below are some pictures of some of the highlights of the wedding day :)
